Charging etiquette for Tesla drivers
Charging stations work best when everyone follows a few simple rules. This guide explains how to share Superchargers and public chargers respectfully.
At Superchargers
- Move your car once charging is complete to avoid idle fees.
- Park within the stall lines so cables reach safely.
- Choose a stall that is not paired if possible.
At public chargers
- Use only the connector you need and avoid blocking other ports.
- Leave a note or phone number if you must step away.
- Report broken equipment in the charging app.
Safety reminders
Never use damaged cables. Keep cords out of walkways and avoid charging in standing water.
